As artistic and academic researcher, I am investigating schools as arenas of transcultural interactions. Putting on the grid of Performance Studies, I explore the visual, sonic, bodily and scenic methods that evoke processes of (trans-)cultural and social negotiation, performance and formation.
I will analyse case studies with special focus on how (personal and historical) stories of migration are aesthetically performed, negotiated and staged. Starting points are threshold situations like the transition from break to class, the interaction of individuals and collectives, scenes of translation. What do we see if we look at school coming from these thresholds?
